Royal Oak Environs Tour

April 17, Saturday:

Join us as we bop around the Royal Oak area savoring local delights including over the top tortes, wine, and Middle Eastern delicacies.  We will also venture into Ferndale for pierogies and apple fritters that will challenge even the greatest willpower.  And we could never tour Royal Oak without dropping in at our favorite Mexican restaurant for tacos, chips and guacamole.  We are happy that all the stops on our tour are locally owned and operated so that we can take part in supporting our local economy.  Be sure to bring a shopping bag along, there are many goodies on this tour that you will want to bring home with you.

Motown Chowdown Tour

February 12, Friday:

Detroit has great food with unsurpassed variety. Join Taste-full Tours as we dig deep into the Motor City, eating our way through the many cultural neighborhoods downtown.  We’ll visit small family restaurants and shops, some new and passionate about re-vitalizing Detroit, some old and well seasoned. We’ll taste flavors from around the world as well as some unique Detroit specialties, exploring our city’s history at the same time.  And finally, we’ll enjoy locally crafted beers and Michigan wines, served up by some of the folks who are keeping Detroit working.  Come along as we lead you to these very special, high quality venues just off the beaten path.

The whole concept of Taste-Full Tours began with our visit last summer to this fabulous mid-western food mecca.  Ann Arbor is home to Zingerman's deli, of course, but also Zimgerman's creamery and bakeshop - well off the beaten path.  In addition to our favorite Zing spots, we will also visit Chef Laura's favorite Middle Eastern restaurant (she claims the falafel is the best you will find this side of the Nile).  We will also visit a tremendous local wine shop, an outstanding produce and specialty foods and flower shop, and an elegant spice and tea venue.  Come with us to the place it all began.

Once a month Laura and I spend a day eating our way around our favorite areas of Southeastern Michigan.   So, we thought you might want to join us.   Our stops are selected by a homegrown chef and a world traveler as wells as expect foodies from the metro-Detroit area.   Along the way you’ll pick up cooking tips, recipes, great new food finds and the best part help local grown businesses in SE Michigan.  This tour is sure to be fun-filled, fact-filled and food-filled!  Make sure you bring bags for all of the things you will be purchasing and given on this Taste-full Tours greatest hits!  This tour will be repeated often in different regions of SE Michigan!   This particular tour will focus on Oakland/North Oakland (March 6) and Wayne County (April 3).

International Flavors Tour

March 12, Friday:

This tour will take you to Mexico, Poland, the Arabian Peninsula, Japan and Italy.  Join us as we visit some of Metro-Detroit’s best-loved and respected ethnic restaurants and markets.  You’ll enjoy the fantastic aromas of fragrant spices and fresh baked breads and taste some familiar and not so familiar fare.  We will taste foods at each stop along the way so come hungry! On the tour we will be joined by experts who will help us negotiate foreign labels and provide cooking tips.  Explore the world without having to go to the airport!  No Passports needed.

Beer and BBQ Tour

March 20, Saturday:

Our most popular tour - What could be better than being driven around and eating great BBQ all day long!? Stopping at a local brewery to wash it all down would make it better, so that's what we'll do.  The tour will feature three BBQ spots (a couple superb local venues and an out of the way treasure) and two great microbreweries, with hearty samples at each location.

No bus this time -- join Taste-full Tours as we embark on a new kind of tour for your taste buds! We'll be teaming up with a wonderful local wine shop for an evening of wine and food pairing from different regions all over the world.  Chef Laura and her fantastic sous-chef Laura will prepare some simple, delicious specialties of the region and provide the tasting menu, and our favorite local wine experts will guide you though the wine world to find some perfect matches.
